Benjamin Tappan letter [manuscript], 1846 April 18.

Extract from a letter to his son, Eli Tappan, quoting "Narrative of thirteen years residence in various parts between Montreal and the Pacific" concerning a recount of an incident among the Walla Walla Indians in 1832. Included in the collection are copies of letters from Robert J. Harvey to the Library of Congress in relation to locating the original and acquiring this Photostat copy of the letter.
